Introducing the TAG Heuer Autavia Isograph Collection

The new TAG Heuer Autavia Isograph

Designed with adventurous and daring spirit, TAG Heuer reveals The Autavia Collection at Baselworld 2019 with a complete collection of three-handed models based on the first-generation Autavia case from the sixties.

Reintroducing the Autavia as a stand-alone collection was a natural choice for TAG Heuer. The Autavia was conceptualized as a motorsports and aviation watch. The latest range of models boast versatility, ruggedness and reliability and makes use of the most innovative watchmaking technology to appeal to a new generation of adventurers.

Autavia’s cutting-edge technology

Powering the Autavia Isograph three-hand timepieces is the chronometer-certified Calibre 5. Introduced earlier this year, TAG feature the cutting-edge carbon-composite hairspring that the avant-garde watchmaker in this collection. The distinctive Isograph in this collection is thanks to the combination of Calibre and carbon-composite hairspring. The trademarked name comes from the Greek word iso, which means “equal”, referring to the stability and consistent movement of the component. As known, the hairspring is the most challenging to produce. The newly reinvented hairspring now improves the performance of watches fitted with the brand’s chronometer-certified movement and TAG Heuer is the exclusive manufacturer of these hairspring designed and produced in its in-house laboratory. Lightweight, low-density hairspring is virtually unaffected by gravity and shock and is completely antimagnetic explains why Heuer offers a strong history of innovation.

The original TAG Heuer was loved for its functionality, timeless style and numerous combinations by fans and this is also the case for the seven new models revealed at Baselworld. The stainless-steel Autavia Isograph 42 mm three-hand models feature the rounded first-generation Autavia case and bevelled lugs from the sixties. The new collection is expected to see the hour markers and hour, minute and seconds hands all coated in SuperLuminova®.

A bidirectional rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale in black ceramic, blue ceramic or stainless steel speaks to the original’s breakthrough timing feature for which the Autavia first became famous, while an XL crown takes inspiration from the pilot’s watches and timers that used oversized crowns to make them easier to use while wearing gloves.

Bold in bronze

Alongside with the few variations in stainless steel, TAG Heuer has also introduced two new Autavia Isograph models in bronze, one with a smoked green dial and one with a brown dial, both rounded off with ceramic bezels. This contemporary timepiece is suitable for any adventure or any style, the strap or bracelet of every model in this collection is interchangeable with leather calfskin available in dark brown or light brown and all can be purchased separately.
