Located on the exquisite Kildare countryside grounds of The K Club Hotel, Spa and Country Club, Straffan House is a 34,000-square-foot private residence that has been made available for exclusive use for the first time since it was constructed.
The Straffan House was built by The K Club’s founder, Sir Michael Smurfit, and is located just 40 minutes outside of Dublin, offering guests the best of both town and country experiences. Activities around the property include fishing on the River Liffey, skeet shooting, horse riding and falconry. There are also two Arnold Palmer designed championship golf courses, The Palmer Course and The Smurfit Course. Guests also have access to the 20,000-square-foot K Spa, hailed as one of the finest spas in Europe.
The ten-bedroom Straffan House, which comes with a dedicated service team, concierge and private chef, spans three stories and is filled with lavish amenities, high ceilings, fine stucco work, stunning chandeliers and original works of art by noted Irish artists Sir. William Orpen and Jack B. Yeats. The home also features a spa, gym, games room, cinema, glass-enclosed, thermostatically-controlled wine cellar and indoor swimming pool with a swim-up bar.
