BIFW 2018, Bangkok’s signature fashion week, returns from March 21-25 to showcase the cream of Thailand’s fashion design scene. The event is presented by Siam Piwat and collaboratively held between three leading shopping centers under the concept “One Siam” – Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery. This is no coincidence, as the area has been the epicentre of Thai fashion for many eras.
Thai and international designers of over 29 fashion brands will showcase their latest collections for Spring/Summer 2018. Young and upcoming Thai designers thrive on this opportunity to learn more about the fashion industry, furthermore showing their capabilities to step up and become future trendsetters and tastemakers.
The joining of forces of these three shopping centers is symbolic, historic and will make for an unforgettable occasion. Siam Paragon with its bevy of global luxury brands represents the ultimate fashion hub for tourists and locals alike; Siam Center, the “ideapolis” holds the most flagship stores of leading Thai designers and has been promoting the the fashion sector for over 44 years; while Siam Discovery The Exploratorium is winner of the Store Design of the Year Award from World Retail Awards 2017 and has raised the bar of the Thai retail industry to international heights.
Siam Paragon is set to open a world-class runway, showcasing the true potential of Thai and international designers. There will be a total of 11 shows on the Park Paragon runway throughout the four-day event, with the highlight of the show being the famous British brand Palmer/Harding, brought directly from London Fashion Week 2018. Here is a brand that is currently one of the most talked-about in the fashion industry, known for its unpredictable ways of re-imagining things, its garment style as well as pattern cutting techniques.
Leading Thai designers will also take the stage, including Vatanika presented by Citi, expressing the contemporariness and excitement of fashionistas, as well as Issue presented by Jaguar E-Pace, Rotsaniyom WHITE LABEL, ASAVA presented by Purra and more.
Siam Center will provide the stage for young Thai designers who are ready for their moment in the spotlight. With the runway at Atrium 1, G Floor of Siam Center, the event will open with a talk, “In Conversation with Palmer/Harding”, an intimate discussion with the founders of the aforementioned British brand. The first fashion show will commence with “F.O.S” (Fashion of the South by RMUTSV Srivijaya), inspired by the unique local culture of Southern Thailand, followed by “FASH SWU” by students from the College of Creative Industry Srinakarinwirot, and more.
Siam Discovery will open itself to the world of fashion by bringing the Palmer/Harding Spring/Summer collection straight and fresh off the London Fashion Week runway, along with a Pre-Autumn/Winter 2018 collection that will exclusively premiere at BIFW 2018.
Between March 19-25, all BIFW tickets can be presented for discounts at participating restaurants within Siam Center, Siam Discovery and Siam Paragon. Larger discounts apply to Platinum M Card and VIZ Card members.
