IT’S NATIONAL RUM DAY!

Wouldn’t you and your partner rather be sitting in chaise lounges on a Dominican Republic beach celebrating National Rum Day instead of working? Since you cannot be there, you can do the next best thing: make mixed drinks at home with Brugal Rum, a Dominican rum that is the #1 rum in the Caribbean. Try making the following refreshing recipes, and you will feel like you are on a beach celebrating:

Dark & Stormy – recipe by Maura McGuigan at Bar Pleiades at The Surrey hotel:

  •  2 oz. Brugal Añejo Rum
  • .75 oz. Ginger Syrup
  • .75 oz. Fresh Lime
  • Splash of Soda Water

Shake, strain over ice in a Collins glass. Float 1 oz. of Cruzan Black Strap Rum. Garnish with lime.

Kiwi Daiquiri – recipe by Jasper Soffer at Mulberry Project
