Priyesh Singh, Aisehifoodie For TMM
Food is a medium that connects people beyond boundaries. But for micro-blogger Priyesh Singh, founder, Aisehifoodie, food is an emotional connection that bonds him with his soul and drives his endless love for food and taste. His brainchild Aisehifoodie, an Instagram page helps people develop the same bond with food and he selflessly offers all sorts of guidance to those who aspire to build a career in flavours. In a virtual conversation with TMM, the young entrepreneur talks about his journey and future of the F&B industry in the online world.
Love for food is common. How did you develop this love and how does Priyesh define love for food?
When we say food in Delhi, everyone thinks about butter paratha, chole bhature and some chaat papdi and golgappas. For me, food is something that satisfies my soul and taste buds too. I was 12 when I realized that I can’t control hunger and every 2 hours I need something to munch. As a kid, I used to make cheeni paratha and aloo paratha when no one was around to feed me. And I guess that was the time when I developed a pure love for food. It’s not just taste, but an emotional connection with my hunger and I can’t give that up ever.
Aisehifoodie connects with every foodie. Tell us more about your Instagram page.
I used to click pictures before eating, and this habit of mine was intolerant by many of my friends but one day one of my batchmates told me to start a blog page on social media. I started my page but to think of an interesting and striking name was difficult. I wanted something desi that everybody use in their regional language and then ‘Aisehifoodie’ was born. I was consistent with my posts and slowly the page got the recognition. Aisehifoodie is more like connecting and helping those who want to grow in this industry. I keep sharing tips and tricks with people via direct messages to help them grow and together grow with them as an industry.
So what’s in store with Aisehifoodie?
So basically, now we are selling digital products via it but plans are to move forward with digital videos and travel and exploring in a fun way. We are working on our YouTube channel so we can produce some high-quality videos and engage more audiences.
Lockdown has impacted the Food and Beverage industry badly. How did it impact your page?
First of all, I would like to salute all the doctor and staff who are working risking their life for the country. While the pandemic has restricted my outdoor activities, this phase has given me a chance to explore a lot in terms of cooking and that is what I am doing. I keep engaging my audience with that, and I love doing so because I am an extrovert who loves interacting and exchanging ideas with others.
What’s your expansion plan, keeping the lockdown and economy in mind?
Food and travel industry is badly impacted by the pandemic and it will surely take time to recover. So, keeping that in mind, we are currently working on a digital product so that we can sustain in this situation and at the same time help people to start their own projects via social media.
Which part of the country is your favourite in terms of food and why?
Delhi of course! Second, in the list is Mumbai. These two cities are like a country itself, where you can find a variety of dishes and cuisines from different parts of the country. I’ll say Delhi is like Gokuldham.
