Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier failed to settle their rivalry last night — but for many, it didn’t even matter — the evening belonged to the Twitter-anointed fashion king, Jared Leto.

The House of Gucci star entered the UFC 264 event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in a black button-up shirt with a plunging v-neck straight out of the early ’00s, accentuated by a small, powder blue necktie.
From his double-breasted elfin Gucci jacket to accessorizing his own severed head as an accessory at the Met Gala, Leto has never shied away from making a statement with his attire. But last night, surrounded by the likes of Addison Rae, Donald Trump, Sia, and Odell Beckham Jr.Odell Beckham Jr., Leto seemed to have missed the assignment altogether — and the internet was here for it.
It’s becoming increasingly apparent that, after over a year of lockdown, we are less interested in dressing for an event; it’s about exceeding and/or ignoring the brief, and most importantly, dressing for yourself.
Life’s too short to short to follow the dress code so slick your hair back and wear rosary beads to the UFC fight. For Leto, the Gucci influence is front and center, although Twitter had some hilarious ideas about where he might have drawn influence.
