Jason Nash Reveals ‘Defining’ Moment in Friendship With David Dobrik: ‘He Shot Me With a Paintball Gun’

Everyone knows the YouTube bromance for the ages is between Jason Nash and David Dobrik — but what makes them an unstoppable pair? The 46-year-old spoke with Life & Style exclusively about his connection with the 23-year-old … and revealed that the most memorable moment of their friendship started with a fun little paintball prank.

“The moment that probably defines our friendship is … I’d been working really hard and I was going to have a vacation in Hawaii. And then on the way to the the airport he was like, ‘do I have permission to come shoot you with a paintball gun in Hawaii, on your vacation?’ And I was like, ‘yes, of course,’ because that sounded like the funniest thing you could do,” he revealed while promoting his stand-up comedy tour. “So I go to Hawaii. I’m having a great time. And in the back of my mind, I’m like, yeah, he’s probably going to come. I don’t know how he’s gonna find me — he knew I was in Maui, but he didn’t know where.”

Needless to say, David is pretty ~crafty~ when it comes to pranking. “Well, he found me. He hacked my Snapchat. I remember the phone rang in the hotel room. And I was like, ‘hello?’ And this girl we work with was like, ‘Hi, we have a bunch of free stuff from Under Armour that they wanted to send, we have a gift basket.’ And I was like, f—k, this is it.”

“Couple minutes later, there was a knock at the door. And I unlocked the door and he stuck the paintball gun in,” Jason dished. “And he was like, ‘open the door, open the door!’ And that was it.”

But the prank itself was hardly the best part of the gag for these vloggers. “And the funny thing about David was when it was all done — It was really funny. It really hurt. Good job. He shot me three times,” he explained. “But what was really funny is after, I was like, ‘OK, cool, let’s go to dinner.’ And he was like, ‘nah, gotta get back.’ That just defines our friendship, which is really just about the jokes, and the content and getting something really great.”

Clearly, jokes and content work well for these funny dudes. Glad we have a friendship as great as theirs to look up to!
