Jessica Jann’s Top 10 Tables

We’ve known, worked with and loved actress hyphen model Jessica Jann over the past few years and know of her deep love for great food (don’t be fooled by that tiny body, girl can eat!).

Back in Home Kong after her trip to the US to be with her folks for Christmas and New Year, we noted that her Insta feed was mostly family and … food! That’s only to be expected as she does have a wildly popular food blog and social media presence. So we had to ask, where are her favourite plates around the globe? In no particular order, she lists:

Bestia in Los Angeles

The vibe, pasta and cocktails are so LA. It’s a must-have every time I go back.

Lazy Bear in San Francisco

What an amazing dining experience. Each course has such decadent and wholesome ingredients. I’ve been twice and it never ceases to surprise me. Always impressed.

Raya in Phuket

Home-style Thai dishes that came out piping hot.

KOH Restaurant in Koh Samui

The Thai dishes and veggies are all amazingly fresh. It’s more of a high-end dining experience since it’s at the Four Seasons Koh Samui, but I’ve never had such delicious and soft beef Massaman curry. The view is a standout, but only during lunch hours.

Mume in Taipei

Went with the family and we really loved all the dishes and vibe of this place.

Chikuyotei in Tokyo

Just WOW! The signature dish: super-soft, buttery and flavourful eel over rice was demolished in under five minutes. We got to the cosy restaurant just before it opened and the restaurant was entirely packed by the time we set foot inside. The wait in line was killer – but there’s a reason why. The food is unbelievable.

Jungsik in Seoul

Modern Korean dishes. Really loved the fresh flavours and attention to detail of every plate.

For Kee in Sheung Wan

I crave this cha chan teng’s famous pork chop over rice. I normally don’t eat this much rice. But, when I’m here, I go a bit nuts eating everything. The only downside is that there’s always, always a huge line to get in.

Little Bao in SoHo

Every time I go to this spot I have a great time.

Sushi Tokami in Tsim Sha Tsui

Two words: the TORO. Period.
