TRAVEL ESSENTIALS
I have all my beauty essentials (balm, facial moisturiser) in a vanity case, ready to be put in my luggage at any time.
PARISIAN RENDEZVOUS
Jardin du Luxembourg for a walk with my husband and children on the weekend, Galerie Perrotin for exhibitions, and Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen for vintage furniture. I love Italian food and my favourite Italian restaurant is a tiny spot with only a few tables. It’s called Cibus.
HOLIDAY HOT SPOTS
I love Thailand for winter holidays, as the weather is so nice when it’s winter in Europe and Morocco; it reminds me of my childhood.
FAVOURITE HOTELS
For hotels, The Mercer in New York and The Connaught in London.
WEEKEND ESCAPE
My country house at Deauville in Normandy. It’s been less than a year since I bought it and I’m still finalising the interior decoration. I’ve been very inspired by the landscape, which is close to the British countryside. There are flowers, checks and tartan in the collection, all inspired by the UK.
PACKING POINTERS
If you don’t have lots of space, priority has to be given to accessories. I’d rather travel lightweight, with just travel essentials: a pair of jeans, men’s shirts and sweaters and then at least one dress. It could be a lace dress that you can wear at a cocktail or to go to dinner in. If you don’t bring too much with you, you have an excuse to go shopping.
JET-SET STYLE
I can sometimes be more masculine, especially during the day, but I’m always very feminine when I go out at night. I’m a woman and I like to feel sexy and beautiful and have fun when I go out. So I’ll definitely pick a short bustier dress.
WHAT’S IN THE SUITCASE?
A trench coat for autumn, but revisited, such as the one from our upcoming collaboration with American brand Schott. The piece has voluminous sleeves inspired by the Schott bomber jacket and we added zips on the sides to give it a modern and urban attitude.
A suit. Although Maje has a strong feminine, sometimes bohemian, feel, the brand is also about mixing references and influences such as masculine and feminine.
