Editor’s Notes: Joe Freshgoods is going for the three-peat with his third New Balance collaboration.
The iconic bootleg designer blessed us with two New Balance collabs in the past, delivering the “Anatomy of the Heart” 992s and “Outside Clothes” 990v3s. Both sneakers enjoyed incredibly successful drops, to say the least, selling out in minutes on both occasions.
Mr. Freshgoods playfully teased his previous collaborations before they dropped his forthcoming project is no exception. We went back to the first teaser and laid out everything we know before his next New Balance collab drops in April.

In November 2021, Joe Freshgoods posted a video on Twitter that featured basketball legend, Kobe Bryant. In the visual, Bryant throws up three fingers during the Lakers’ three-peat in 2002, becoming the last team to win three back-to-back championships.
Of course, this post left JFG followers frantic as fans pressed for more information on what they assumed might be his final New Balance partnership. Let’s just say bullying does not work in the case of Joe Freshgoods.

Fast forward to the top of this year: Joe Freshgoods confirmed his third New Balance collaboration with a photo of two shoeboxes and a caption that read “3 #.”
Red-orange and mint green cloud prints dressed the two shoeboxes along with the words, “Made For Us.” A “JFG” logo in New Balance’s typeface served as a witty nod to Joe Freshgoods’ design style of creative spins on prevailing brands and cultural moments.

The Community Goods founder further lets us know that this New Balance collaboration is happening, once again referencing the three-peat by posting about another basketball icon, Michael Jordan.
Just yesterday, Joe Freshgoods took to Twitter to tweet three numbers, “550”, hinting that a JFG x New Balance 550 is on the way.

The Rihanna-approved New Balance 550 has seen a surge in popularity in the past year. Aime Leon Dore is a frequent collaborator on the model, while Rich Paul recently enjoyed a swish with his take on the shoe.

In prime JFG nature, the designer’s jokes carried through with a comical follow-up video as fans reacted to the previous “550” tweet. For the most part, people (It’s me, I’m people) are excited to see what Mr. Freshgoods comes up with for the favored model.
JFG has quite the eye for color, evident in the rich hues of the collaborative 992 and earthy tones of the 990v3. I have no doubts that the third NB collab will be just as good, maybe better.
