Dr. Jonathan Waxman is board-certified in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. He’s practiced thoracic surgery since 2004, and his subspecialty is minimally invasive thoracic surgery. He speaks English, Hebrew, and Spanish fluently and treats patients at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Delray Medical Center, and other Palm Beach County hospitals. He’s also an assistant professor of surgery at Florida Atlantic University.
“From a very early age, I had a calling to help people following [after] my parents, who were both physicians,” Waxman says.
During his tenure as Boca Raton Regional Hospital’s medical director of thoracic surgery, U.S. News & World Report selected the hospital as a “best hospital/high performing center for lung surgery.”
In his private practice, Waxman spends as much time as needed to explain a patient’s condition and treatment, and communicates that information to all involved physicians. He
also offers guidance regarding lung cancer screening and risk factors, as well as diagnosis and follow-up for lung nodules.
