Proud mama alert! Jordyn Woods‘ mother, Elizabeth Woods, posted a few video clips from her daughter’s first starring movie role in the BET+ film Sacrifice on her Instagram Stories — and we don’t blame the ~momager~ for geeking out. That very first lead role must be so special for the 22-year-old and her fam.
“Watching my baby girl,” the brunette beauty raved about her daughter on December 27, sharing three vids of a scene where Jordyn’s character recovers in the hospital. She tagged her daughter and the film’s official Instagram page; She also used the hashtag “#sacrificefilm.”
Believe it or not, the swerve toward acting came pretty naturally for Elizabeth’s influential daughter — and Jordyn told Life & Style exclusively all about how her newfound acting career came to be. “I actually believe in trying everything and it was something that just kind of happened organically and I tried it out and I ended up loving it so it’s just part of my story, my career path,” she revealed.
In fact, she got her big break just like everyone else. “I auditioned and they liked me and I flew to New Orleans and I filmed. I had no lessons, no anything, I just kind of went for it and it paid off,” she dished about the casting process. “It kind of came naturally to me and now I actually just finished filming my second movie like a couple weeks ago.”
Her next movie is called Triggered and the model explained that it won’t release until 2020. “I actually have the leading role for that one, so it’s cool,” she told LS.
But she’s still feeling a ton of love from her very first cast. “I just feel like everyone became family and I love getting to stay in New Orleans because the culture there is awesome,” she said. “And I got to see so much that I wouldn’t have seen just without being there for the movie.”
This rising star definitely plans on racking up the movie roles in the new year — so keep your eyes peeled. “Yeah, I mean there’s a lot of different things that I focus on,” she explained. “There’s a lot more stuff coming in 2020 but I think acting is definitely on top of my priority list.”
Proud mama, keep on burnin’ — a.k.a. posting cute clips of your baby girl doing her thing!
