Using MRIs, PET scans, and other advanced imaging modalities, Dr. Jose Fragoso has the power to uncover abnormalities deep within and determine a diagnosis, the first critical steps toward healing and recovery.
Born in Puerto Rico, Fragoso moved to the United States and worked as a medical technologist at St. Mary’s Hospital in Atlanta. He returned to his home country and earned his medical degree at Ponce Health Sciences University, before completing his residency in radiology at the Hospitalof the University of Pennsylvania and embarking upon a fellowship in body imaging/PET at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan.
Today, he serves as one of eight board-certified diagnostic radiologists at Jupiter Imaging Associates, Inc. In addition to overseeing the Jupiter Medical Center’s four urgent care centers, he’s also the director of its cutting-edge Outpatient Imaging Center.
As prevention and early detection can often mitigate disease, Fragoso recommends yearly screenings for breast and prostate cancer. “Subjects come in all the time for screening studies, and sometimes we find a malignancy,” he says. “It’s always good to find it early, then we can treat it.”
