The Yeezy empire expands again. This time, musician, fashion designer and entrepreneur Kanye West is venturing into the world of beauty as he files a trademark for Yeezy Beauty.
It was only a matter of time before the music and fashion mogul, Kanye West was going to tap into the beauty industry. He joins other megastars who have also explored and successfully built their beauty brands such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Victoria Beckham and Miranda Kerr. Not to mention his famous family is already well established in the beauty world – wife Kim Kardashian with her brand KKW Beauty, sister-in-law Kylie Jenner with Kylie Cosmetics (including her recent collaboration with sister Khloe Kardashian for Koko Kollection) – so it seems natural that he would also step into the beauty and wellness arena.
Earlier this month, Kanye had filed for the trademark Yeezy Beauty which includes an extensive range. Fans can expect makeup (covering lipsticks, foundation and mascara), skincare (face masks, exfoliating scrubs, cleansers and creams), false lashes, nail polish, body oils, shaving creams, haircare, fragrances, oral hygiene products and even deodorant.
Yeezy Beauty isn’t the first attempt for Kanye to foray in the competitive industry. Back in 2017, West had also trademarked Donda Cosmetics – the name is a tribute to his late mother who passed in 2007. Though Donda Cosmetics never transpired, it goes without saying that fans will still be on their toes in hopes of the launch.
