The Grilling Greek
I was happy when Kerb announced a new location for their Kerb Street Food Market. It was around the summer months and a few street food vans opened up in Rathbone Square. Fitzrovia is fabulous location for food, people are spoilt for choices from Michelin star restaurants, small businesses and street food markets. Any trader under the Kerb brand is top notch, although there was only a small selection at Rathbone Square. The location is just off from Charlotte Street and also minutes away from Oxford circus.

The Grilling Greek was the place I stopped by, you can’t help but follow the smell of BBQ meat lingering in the air from their van. Souvlaki is a popular Greek food, it wasn’t until I had one from Gig’s I knew what they were.
Pork meat is the most popular although The Grilling Greek offers pork, chicken or halloumi. Small pieces of meat skewers are grilled and you can see the fat dripping off them. Once it’s ready the souvlaki is wrapped in a with tomatoes, raw red onions and their mamma’s tzatziki sauce.
Pork souvlaki holds the marinated flavours very well, juicy throughout every bite and pair well with the cold salad and tzatziki yoghurt sauce. The portion is on the slightly smaller size and you can also order the feta chips as an extra side.
