Kim Kardashian ‘Can Empathize’ With Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry on Privacy and Having a ‘Safe Space’

She gets it. Kim Kardashian recently revealed that though she believes everyone goes through “their own journey,” she can “definitely empathize” with Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan (née Markle) in their quest for privacy in their marriage and family life.

“I think their journey is extremely personal with what his mother experienced and how her life was so affected by the spotlight and by the paparazzi,” Kim told the Australian news program The Sunday Project, according to Access Online. “I don’t think anyone can really understand what that’s like except for them.”

“But I think as I’m older and as I have kids, what I would want for them is just the safest place,” Kim continued. “I can definitely empathize with [Harry and Meghan’s] need for having a secure, safe place and taking time for themselves and having privacy when they need it.”

Clearly, Kim, 39, is one of the most well-known personalities on the planet in 2019, so there’s no surprise that she would be able to find common ground with the most notable royals when it comes to being in the public eye.

An insider recently revealed to Life & Style  exclusively that the royal couple has been struggling to “stay strong” after dealing with media and fan input about their marriage. “Harry would move heaven and earth for Meghan and he’s going out of his way to cheer her up. I have to admit, the pressure of being a royal and the bad press they’ve endured has put some strain on their marriage but they’re trying to stay strong,” a source explained.

The duchess revealed during the recent U.K. documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey that she wasn’t exactly prepared for the ins and outs of being a member of the royal family. “It’s hard. I don’t think anybody could understand that,” the 38-year-old revealed to ITV anchor Tom Bradby. “In all fairness, I had no idea, which probably sounds difficult to understand and hear. But when I first met my now-husband, my friends were really happy because I was so happy but my British friends said to me, ‘I’m sure he’s great but you shouldn’t do it because the British tabloids will destroy your life.’”

We’re glad someone gets what the couple is going through.
