Kopapa, Covent Garden.

Yesterday morning Claire and I went for brunch at Kopapa, a new brunch-spot in Seven Dials in Covent Garden. Their sister restaurant is my favourite brunch cafe, The Providores, which I've written about before, and they both have quite similar dishes. Friday I was at Wireless Festival, and as I was going back again yesterday I needed a good meal inside of me to keep me going.

I started with a delicious berry and banana smoothie, and opted for my favourite brunch dish - Sweet French toast with bacon and thick yoghurt, or as they like to call it; Spiced banana French toast with grilled bacon, orange blossom labne, tamarind raisin relish & orange vanilla syrup. Just like when I visit The Providores, I asked for the Vanilla Spiced Figs on the side, which I then promptly tipped onto the french toast. Seriously, figs soaked in vanilla are the best topping ever for French Toast, and I never understand why brunch places don't include them in the dish!

Although the entire dish tasted amazing, I couldn't taste the spiced banana at all (I'm guessing the bread was soaked in it as there were no bananas on it at all), and I also couldn't really taste the orange blossom in the labne (yoghurt), it just tasted like normal yoghurt. So I was a bit disappointed with that, but it was still delicious!

Drool worthy? Non?

Claire had the Chorizo hash with 2 fried eggs, rocket, sriracha chilli sauce & crispy shallots, and although delicious, she thought it was far too spicy for a brunch dish. And that is coming from someone who luuurves spicy food! Also it came with hardly any rocket, which is a bit stingy when it states it comes with rocket, so it's not as if it's just a finishing touch to the dish.

After polishing off our brunch, we then ordered sorbets to finish. I had peach and passionfruit sorbet served with a huge ginger snap, which you can see below, and Claire had cherry and mango. The sorbets were probably the best sorbets I've ever tasted, they were the perfect refreshing finish to our brunch on such a warm day in the city!

I loved Kopapa, we sat outside and people watched in the sunshine whilst eating some scrumptious food, and it was absolutely lovely. It kept me going right through Wireless Festival (a post on this will be up tomorrow!), which was great as the prices of the festival food were extortionate! Although I loved Kopapa, their sister restaurant The Providores is still my favourite...after all, their French Toast has banana as well as the bacon and my opt-in vanilla spiced figs! *drool*

Kopapa is open for weekend brunch from 9:30am-4pm Saturday & Sunday. Brunch along with two drinks each and sorbet each cost us around £24pp, which I think is pretty good considering the amount we had!

Have you been to Kopapa? What's your favourite brunch spot?
