Kova Patisserie café
I love Japanese cafes, they are becoming increasingly popular and easier to find in London. Kova Patisserie is a small and popular café in the heart of Soho. Best known for Mille crepes, people were going crazy for them. Located in St Anne’s Court nearby to Canarby and Oxford Street. Opposite David Bowie blue plaque you find Kova Patisserie café. The place itself is very tiny and is limited to a few seats to sit in.
Mille crepes
A small glass cabinet has the selection of cakes on display. Whole cakes are available to buy, there’s Mille crepes, shortcake, matcha rolls and more on offer.
Of course, I had to try mille crepes, literally translated from French as a thousand crepes. It’s a dream come dream, a wonderful mashup of crepes and crème eaten like a cake. I opted for the chocolate one. As with Asian desserts, it’s never too heavy on the flour or cream. The layers of crepe are thinner than paper, with a light chocolate airy cream. Not only do Kova Patisserie do cakes, there’s a great selection of teas. My usual go-to is matcha green tea with soy milk.
