She’s got the eye! Bachelor alum Lauren Luyendyk (née Burnham) shared doable home decor tips exclusively with Life & Style. “We just moved into a new house a couple of months ago. So, we’re working on renovating the house we’re living in, and that’s a huge undertaking in itself,” Lauren adds about her and husband Arie Luyendyk Jr.‘s new digs in Scottsdale, Arizona.
They’ve been busy making the gorgeous house their dream space. “I guess the main living area where everyone hangs out the most,” the season 22 contestant, 28, explains about which area of their abode is her favorite. “Right now, ours isn’t as zen as I would like it to be, so it’s not my favorite right now. So, I guess I would say our bedroom is my favorite place to hang out in because I feel like it has the best calming presence, but normally, it would be the living room.”
Between being a busy mom of daughter Alessi and launching fashion label Shades of Rose, her 12-piece collection that dropped on August 18, it’s no wonder she’s taking her time making their new home just the way they want it.
That’s not to say she doesn’t have a vision. “Our house that we’re living in now is really modern on the exterior, but the interior is more I guess country. So, we’re just trying to make the interior match the exterior,” she continues. “So yeah, we’re going to stick to mostly neutrals but we’re going to make it more modern.”
While Arie, 38, has “input” into the design of the house, Lauren notes she “makes the calls on that stuff.” However, the racecar driver definitely has a few non-negotiable things, like plenty of garage space for his cars and other “toys.”
The real estate agent and designer’s Scottsdale home sits on a sprawling piece of property complete with a pool, floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in closets and more.
Lauren previously told fans via Instagram that some of her renovation ideas include putting cement countertops in the bathroom, changing the look of the fireplace in the master bedroom and converting the barn. They want to transform the outdoor, open-air barn into a fully-functioning gym, larger garage space and separate guest quarters for visitors.
