Le Jardinier

One of the most anticipated restaurant openings in New York was Le Jardinier, from chef Alain Verzeroli, who spent more than two decades working with late chef Joël Robuchon. The menu takes a different approach to cuisine with a vegetable-focused menu and sustainable proteins. The menu isn’t completely vegetarian, there are dishes with fresh fish like dover sole, fluke, salmon and lobster, chicken and beef tenderloin with an array of various vegetables on the side. The restaurant opened in 2019 and was awarded one Michelin star in the 2020 Michelin Guide. The space is as beautiful as the dishes are good: The decor looks as though it was inspired by a greenhouse with beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows lined with greenery, allowing in the light but keeping you from seeing the distracting hustle and bustle of the Midtown neighborhood. Green marble walls and floors add flair to this unique, modern space. The 62-seat restaurant also houses an indoor garden and green design details on the banquettes and chairs, alongside fun light fixtures. The restaurant serves lunch, dinner, dessert and also offers a special chef’s tasting with wine pairing dinner. If you can’t seem to snag a reservation, come for happy hour to enjoy small bites and delicious cocktails.
