TMM | Himansh Kohli, You saw instant success and fame with ‘Yaariyaan’, but that success never repeated again. What is the reason?
I mean frankly, it’s all luck. It’s not like I didn’t want to do a good role or didn’t want to be part of a good film. It’s just that sometimes, something works for you and sometimes it’s a flop. There is a lot of insecurity in the film industry and looking for the right project takes a toll on an actor. You can’t narrow down the insecurities to the film industry only, it’s evidently present everywhere. But it does take a toll on an actor and staying positive all the time, when you’re waiting for that ‘YOUR KIND OF ROLE’ is super-hard. But, I’m a patient person, and I know good things come to those who wait.
Who is your favourite youth icon and why?
Varun Dhawan is an easy-going, fun-filled and effortlessly amazing person. I love the way he carries himself and makes the vibes lit.
Himansh Kohli, What kind of role inspires you?
At present, I am open to a good script which has an apt backing. But preference-wise, I enjoy doing romantic comedy.
In terms of style sense, who is your favourite in the industry?
Sonam Kapoor is really stylish. She’s one of the few, who is seen as a fashion icon! Among men, Shahid dresses up really well. I love his style!
Who is your acting inspiration in Bollywood and why?
Aamir Khan. There’s a lot to learn from Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood and how he masters every role. In fact, I love Ranbir for the same reason, still remember every scene of Sanju and how he killed it.
To become a successful actor, is it important to have six-pack abs?
Fitness is important. Six-packs, eight packs, the fat belly doesn’t matter. Because all these pumped-up body transformations are temporary. What stays with you is your real fitness.
Would you go full monty in the film if the script demands?
See, that is the prerogative of the director. I will go full monty only if the script demands and if the director is willing to go with it all the way. I guess it has more to do with the director’s vision than anyone else.
How do you unwind yourself?
Travel, movies, Netflix, music, driving and gymming. I have a plethora of options to explore.
Your favourites
Perfume: Bvlgari’s Le Gemme Garanat
Holiday Destination: South Africa (Cape Town)
Film: I love classics, so, Andaz Apna Apna!
