Travelling well is an important part of living well our life not losing any memorable moment as well as any professional one. I recently experienced a long flight from Paris to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and back on Cathay Pacific.
Although I have to travel a lot for my duties I will never be fully comfortable in flight, but I have to say that this time it was a good choice and from the take-off to the landing I could feel always in safe and never bored. For long flights is always a good idea to travel in business class although Cathay Pacific in particular is offering a good value in economy too. I choose business class in the end as I had a long connection in Hong Kong after 12 hours flight from Paris and during all the flight I could enjoy a wonderful dining experiences, an incredible and up to date flight entertainment menu and most importantly an impeccable service whether if it was related to some regular things like food, beverage, snacks, whether when I got a very high fever on my flight back.
My 12 hours on the way to Vietnam went pretty smooth and at my arrival at Hong Kong I experienced The Pier Lounge of Cathay Pacific at the Hong Kong Airport. Just I went straight to the gate 65 and there I could take a big rest after my very long flight falling down on a big armchair first and enjoying a nice breakfast later. On top of that if you (like me) are just connecting and not stopping over to Hong Kong you can really feel the Hong Kong flavours there thanks to an elegant Teahouse and even a Noodle Bar on top of the usual bars and catering service. The lounge design inspires luxury and elegance and it was really outstanding. I tried that on the way to Vietnam and after few hours of relax I was recharged to take my connection to Ho Chi Minh and arrive there fresh enough to be caught by the frenetic Saigon.
On the way back I was tired after two long weeks exploring Vietnam and I had another long connection in Hong Kong. Usually the last days of my trips are the most intense ones as I don’t want to miss a thing, that is why I was extremely tired and I had to sleep. I then decided to experience The Wing Lounge of Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong (near gate no.4) and there I could not only relax and have lunch but even take a cabin where I could make a bath and sleep on a bed in the meantime my connection flight arrives. Needless to say I could take a big rest after my last intense days in Vietnam and before my flight from Hong Kong to Charles de Gaulle airport which Cathay Pacific crew made really nice and comfortable even being a bit sick.
