With even Haute Couture Week over, thrill seekers can turn to London Fashion Weekend for their fashion fix but there’s a bit of a wait because that’s in September. Organized by the British Fashion Council (BFC), the four-day event will feature catwalk shows, industry talks and style presentations, allowing consumers to experience the atmosphere of London Fashion Week (again!) and gain an insight into the fashion industry. Held biannually, the Saatchi gallery will play host to the event this year, where curated shopping galleries from more than 150 international and British brands will also be available for visitors.
This year, British brands Sibling, Preen by Thorton Bregazzi and J.JS Lee will also be showcasing their Fall/Winter 2016 collection at the London Fashion Weekend. For those seeking a little more to do, there are shows and talks to attend: catwalk shows will be hosted by Jack Guinness and Laura Jackson, with each day dedicated to a different British talent. Similarly, an “Industry Talk Series” by fashion stylist Martha Ward, and “Style Presentations” will be styled by ES Magazine‘s Junior Fashion Editor Jenny Kennedy. It is like living like a fashion insider instead of watching from the sidelines for once.
“London is the only fashion capital to offer this direct to consumer experience and insight into the fashion industry which is worth £28billion to the UK economy,” noted Chief Executive of the BFC Caroline Rush CBE, highlighting the strength of the UK fashion industry.
London Fashion Weekend will take place September 22-25 at the Saatchi Gallery. For more information and tickets, visit the website here.
