Since 1991, Dr. Louis J. Raso, a board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain management physician, has been treating patients for chronic pain. He was one of the first board-certified interventional pain management physicians in the country. Armed with knowledge, experience, and compassion, Raso has helped thousands of patients over the years. “My job is to give patients their life back and to [help them] live a better-quality life,” he says.
Raso’s first step is to determine the cause of the pain. Based on the results of X-rays, CAT scans, or MRIs, he orders a customized treatment plan beginning with the least invasive procedure. Physicians frequently refer patients to Raso for nerve injuries, spinal fractures, chronic back and neck pain, and cancer pain. His specific area of interest and expertise is in spinal cord stimulation.
Raso is passionate about ridding our country of the opioid epidemic. He has helped the State of Florida develop guidelines in approaching the opioid epidemic. His greatest compliment is seeing a patient walk out of his office pain-free.
