In Louis Vuitton’s latest high complication, a mysterious movement is arranged in a vertical line and features a one-minute flying tourbillon escapement. An intricate system of sapphire crystals in the manual-winding LV 110 movement enables the optical illusion, making it look like the movement floats in space with hands levitating above. The Monogram flower at 12 o’clock conceals a co-axial double barrel that endows the watch with an astounding eight days of power reserve. The motif is seen throughout; even the tourbillon cage features an open-worked Monogram-flower motif. Despite its size, the 45mm platinum case doesn’t look out of place on a woman’s wrist. Almost unbelievably, it is water resistant to 50 meters.
