The highly sought-after Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh sneakers will first debut through an auction with Sotheby’s. The bidding begins at US$2,000 on the Sotheby’s website held from 26 January to 8 February, 2022.
A total of 200 special edition pairs will be auctioned off with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to The Virgil Abloh “Post Modern” Scholarship Fund, which supports the education of Black, African American, or African descent students.
The Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” sneakers collection was originally created for the luxury fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2021 menswear collection. For this special launch, each pair of the sneakers will be sold with a Louis Vuitton pilot case that has been reimagined in an iconic orange colourway and made from Monogram Taurillon Leather.
At a later date, Louis Vuitton will be opening an exhibition to feature all 47 pairs from the Spring/Summer 2021 menswear collection. The details will be announced soon. As for the sales of the coveted sneakers, the French luxury brand said that there will be limited quantities available and are going to be sold exclusively via Louis Vuitton’s store network.
The colourways for the official sale will be different from the ones seen at the auction happening this month. As part of the last design creation from the celebrated designer, the Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh will be the most “hyped” pair of sneakers this year.
