The sustainable fashion movement shows no sign of slowing down. There are a number of high-end, pre-loved shopping websites (we’re looking at you, Vestiaire Collective, Hardly Ever Worn It et al.); Net-a-Porter has its own sustainable section, Net Sustain; and many of the world’s most beloved luxury brands have taken major steps to be more eco-friendly.
While luxury fashion is made with longevity in mind and therefore not in the infamous ‘fast fashion’ category, that hasn’t stopped brands from upping their game by looking for innovative fabrics and creating long-term plans: Bottega Veneta is using recycled ‘kraft’ paper, Mother of Pearl traces fabrics from design to inception, and Nanushka champions vegan leather.
