Just 20 miles long and with a dry climate all year round, Aruba is a Caribbean destination with a difference.
Tirso Tromp, Aruba’s Director of Tourism for Europe, talks to Elite about what the Dutch-speaking island has to offer, from the largest shipwreck in the Caribbean to paddleboard yoga and kayaking in the Mangroves.
“Basically, the strategy for is to become a hub for Europe to Latin America,” explains Tromp.
“We’ve a highly educated population on the island. We speak four languages. Arubans speak Dutch, English, Spanish and a local language and we know Dutch culture, European culture, we know American culture.”
