Marilynn Wick, founder of Costume World in Pompano Beach and The Wick Theatre & Costume Museum in Boca Raton, has been a busy bunny–literally. Her Costume World team has made over 500 double-ply washable masks. On top of that, she is strategizing about new safety protocols for the theatre. And if that were not enough, she is starring as the Easter Bunny in a series of hysterical videos on her social media pages.
“We are all doing what we can to help the community,” said Wick. “I am fortunate to have very close relationships with our theatre patrons, and they are sharing how difficult it is to find masks at the stores or online. So, our Costume World team stepped up and began sewing—six feet apart. The masks are being mailed to subscribers, employees, and volunteers, and we will make more for the community.”
Wick is also planning to re-launch the theatre with advanced safety protocols once programming can be resumed. She has purchased state-of-the-art sanitizing equipment, and temperature scans will be done on all employees and patrons. She will also be asking everyone to wear their masks.
In between these tasks, Wick decided to create a little levity on social media by dressing up as the Easter Bunny and sharing a series of “hare-raising” adventures from her eventful career and personal life!
“We thought we would brighten up our social media feeds with something a little different—the Bunny Funnies,” Wick explained. “These videos feature short stories about some of the humorous moments from my life when I was out and about wearing a bunny suit!”
