Attention goomahs, goombas and gabagool-gobblers: images pointing to a new Nigo x Louis Vuitton collection have surfaced, namely, a duck-shaped shoulder bag that would reduce Tony Soprano to tears.
The fowl-inspired pouch, rumored to release in November, is constructed of LV monogrammed leather accented with gold hardware. A removable shoulder strap allows for crossbody wear, though I imagine Tony would go strap-free and carefully cradle the duck in his arms.

This isn’t the first time Louis Vuitton has dabbled in three-dimensional accessories — earlier this year, Virgil Abloh unveiled an airplane-shaped handbag at the house’s Fall/Winter 2021 runway show. And in 1998, the label released a limited-edition soccer ball bag, later worn by the one and only Rihanna in 2019.
Fashion’s love for animal-shaped purses is, by, now, pretty apparent.
Thom Browne‘s dachshund-shaped Hector bag, an homage to the designer’s beloved pooch, has become a celeb favorite — in fact, Erykah Badu wore Hector to the Met Gala last week.
Expanding on Hector’s success, Browne later introduced an entire collection of animal bags including giraffes, lions, hippos, and yes, even ducks.
Loewe, too, offers a veritable zoo of accessories: elephant, whale, frog, and rabbit-shaped bags are all offered by the JW Anderson-helmed label.

If Tony Soprano, the character, were around today (the show’s open-ended finale aside), I’d like to imagine an entire episode surrounding his fervent search for the Nigo x LV duck bag. With both of his children out of the proverbial nest, the mob boss quells his emotional emptiness by scouring StockX and Grailed for the leather accessory, later issuing a hit on a seller who, foolishly, refuses to mark down the price.
Later, in a session with Dr. Melfi, Tony would lament: “Those goddamned Louis Vuitton ducks.”
