Five emerging designers who don’t typically follow the traditional fashion calendar have been selected to appear in the first series of the exclusive capsule collection, The Innovators, on Matchesfashion.com. The site’s buying director, Natalie Kingham, says, “We are known in the industry for being the first to spot and embrace the best in emerging brands – nurturing creative talent and providing them with a global platform.”
The first five innovators on Matchesfashion.com are:
Matty Bovan: A Central Saint Martins graduate and senior editor of Love magazine, Bovan specialises in hand-crafted knitwear. His four-piece line is individually numbered and limited.
Art School: A genderless brand designed by Edith Loweth and Tom Barratt. The seven-piece collection features prints by Pierre-Louis Auvray and jewellery by Amy Rodriguez.
Claire Barrow: For her second collection for Matchesfashion.com, Barrow has created a selection of pieces, adorned with playful character sketches. All of the items are in shades of pink.
Wanda Nylon: This nine-piece collection is made up of outerwear essentials (we’re talking raincoats and trench coats) and lamé evening outfits. The two styles work well when worn together.
Paula Knorr: Knorr’s 13-piece line references the designer’s continued interests in both womanhood and flattering feminine silhouettes. The tops, trousers and dresses are made from metallic lamé and silk velvet.
