We may not have the Midas touch but having accents of gold in the home is far from difficult. Adding a touch of elegance and refinery is Memoir with its collection, of luxury furniture by interior designer Mafalda Soares. Having been featured for the first time at the Maison et Objet Paris earlier this year, the collection is one that captures luxury living with its finishing touches. Lush and luxurious, the pieces feature a mix of materials that help to draw attention without stealing the limelight.
The brand started off with four pieces that proved to be a hit at Maison et Objet and serve as a reminder of what we can look forward to in 2017. A sleek and timeless design, the Secret Cabinet (main picture) is made from hand-crafted white marble is complemented with gold leaf accents while a gilded brass base ensure that it is stable and durable. Using the marble and gold leaf once again, the designer introduced the Ostentation Folding Screen that would not look out of place alongside the opulent décor of the swinging 60s.
Carrying on the theme of luxurious interiors is the chaise-lounge called Lust. The hand-whickered creation is aptly named as this is one piece of furniture that we would lust after for our home. Covered in sumptuous white velvet and supported by a polished gold brass base, you could live our your dream of being Cleopatra as you lounge around your home on the creation. The final creation, or collection in this case, that helped capture our attention at the design exhibition, was the Vanity Mirror. This may just put the Snow White’s nemesis to shame with not one but five different leaf-shaped mirrors. A subtle reminder of what is in store, Memoir gives us much to yearn for in our home.
