The General Co will present, until November 20, 2016 at The Refinery, Singapore, ‘Psycho Tropics’ – a new art show by Singapore-based visual artist Mojoko, featuring more than 20 new works. In collaboration with Brilliant Prints, the artist has created a series of color editions which will be available in varying materials such as large format canvases and archival paper prints.
“Mojoko’s latest series of work is an explosion of color inspired by the modern day madness experienced from living in the tropics of Southeast Asia. The artworks are inspired by past, present and future Singapore, twisting and mixing the images into a mash-up of pop culture from the hyper-sensorial world of technology, media, traffic and over-population.”
Born in Iran and raised in Hong Kong, the Fabrica-trained Mojoko’s reputation is well established in the street culture and contemporary art scene. Having been shown in museums, galleries and festivals around the world, his work incorporates new media, sculpture, screen printing and curating. He co-owns Kult Gallery, and publishes the free art quarterly kult magazine.
