Most Expensive Tennis Racket

One of the several rackets that Swiss born tennis legend Roger Federer had used in the 2011 French Open in Paris has been sold for an incredible record price at an online auction. This makes Federer’s racket the most expensive male player’s racket ever sold.

The racket sold at auction for a massive $55,000 (£42,000 / €46,000) at the online Goldin Auctions sale.

The listing described it as “an incredible piece of tennis history, a red and white Wilson Six One tour tennis racquet that was signed in black Sharpie by Roger Federer and comes with exceptional provenance, Federer’s Agent Anthony L. Godsick from IMG attributing the racquet to use by Federer during this historic French Open finale.”

It is however not the most expensive racket. The record being $125,000 (£95,000/€105,000) for the racket used by tennis legend Billie Jean King to beat Bobby Riggs in the historic Battle of the Sexes match in 1973.

It should be noted that Federer is worth an estimated $450 million. You can read more about him in the biography ‘Roger Federer: Phenomenon. Enthusiast. Philanthropist.

These aren’t the only expensive tennis rackets, though, as Kylie Jenner reportedly paid a whopping $2,499 for her Chanel Oak Tennis Racquet. She has a net worth of over $1 billion.
