Like a little girl staring into a candy store the very first time. Fingers pressed into the window I glared into the transparent glass domes, like a claw-grabbing machine waiting for the prize to arrive. The pastries at La Pâtisserie des Rêves, is a spectacular sight. Immaculate presented cakes, French pastries on show. The pale salmon pink walls and elegant typography all appeals to the eye. One side of the store is assortments of tea, gifts, books, and nuts for you to take home.
The choice is endless; La Pâtisserie des Rêves is a great export from Paris. Magical mouth-watering delights that promises pleasure. You can easily spend time carefully manoeuvring around the shop just to pick out what you fancy.
A cream puff is a must as recommended by a friend with a choice of airy vanilla cream, and the top poked with a hole of hazelnut chocolate, squished between a two puffs. I loved it, an explosion of thin crispy layers with flavoursome cream.
The other cake Calisson is a traditional French candy, had different layers of flavours of smooth pale yellow paste topped with a royal icing. An eye shape dessert with a soft tart textured crust. Carefully made without too sweet.
It was a long hot summers day and I couldn’t go without an extra scoop of lemon sorbet. Although La Pâtisserie des Rêves does not make them, they source a great supplier.
The verdict La Pâtisserie des Rêves will no doubt tempt your taste buds. The hut for perfect French pastries without traveling to France is over. Those magical delicious moments with premium pastries to satisfy your taste buds. It’s not called “pastry of dreams” for no reason, go on and spoil yourself, all pastries are different, each tells it’s own story.
