Mr Lees latest porridges and congee
Now, who has the time to slave around a stove, stirring and babying a pot of porridge or congee? Mr Lee’s latest new range of congees and porridges cuts down the time to 4 minutes. Already established in creating gourmet instant noodles in a pot. The founder Damien Lee was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and made it his mission to create a product line for busy people to eat better.
Latest range
In the newest range, you have the first-ever sweet products of oat porridges and Asia’s number 1 comfort food congee. The porridges come in the original, so very berry and salted caramel, made with a blend of oats, rice and coconut milk. Low sugar, gluten-free and vegan. The flavoured pots using freeze-dried ingredients to keep the flavours, nutrients, vitamins intact.
So very berry porridge
Packaged in eye-popping colours, underneath the seal in its dried form, the different blend of grains, freeze-dried berries.
It takes just 4 minutes for the porridge to be ready from adding boiling water to the water level line. After the required time, the porridge takes its form, thick and gloppy. You can really taste the real coconut milk flavour and berries. For someone who is not into having very sweet sugary breakfasts, this was the perfect level of sweetness.
Original congee rice porridge
Immune boosting Jook (congee) is one of Asia’s top savoury breakfast dishes, usually, it takes me 1-2 hours to cook a small pot of congee to get to that thick gloppy soft stage. Mr Lee’s congee makes the magic happen instantly. The basic flavours of soy and spring onions can be tasted in one pot, one bite at a time.
Chicken congee rice porridge
This had to be one of my favourites, using the core ingredients I usually use when I make my own chicken congee. All-natural ingredients shredded chicken, mushrooms, ginger and spring onions. It looks and tastes as good as a freshly made bowl.
The only negatives I had with these products, is after the duration I found there was still dried ingredients that needed a good mixing before being eaten.
