Let’s face it, there seems to not be enough hours in the day. No matter what time I wake up (which is typically before 7am on the week days) I am always feeling strapped for time. I love the routine of getting ready, mostly because it’s one of the few moments in the day I have truly to myself. Despite my love for hair and makeup, I rarely have ample amounts of hours to spend on my hair and makeup.
On any given morning, I am rushing to a meeting, the office, an event, or some sort of social function. I am not afforded with the gift of time due to my packed schedule, so I have gotten getting ready down to a science.
I have carefully crafted my every day makeup routine to take no more than five minutes, using only ten products. I recently showed my generally sacred routine via Instagram Stories, and was asked to share which products I use when I am on-the-go.
Below are the every day products I use from my go-to brands such as Nars, Mac, Cover FX, Kevyn Aucoin, and more.
I start by hydrating my lips with balm and spraying rose water on my face. I cover up any darkness under my ears and pinkness around my brows, nose, and chin with creme concealer. I then quickly set the concealer with powder. I do not put the powder all over my face to avoid cakey-ness, I prefer a more natural look for every day. I then contour under my cheekbones with a bronzing powder, and then lightly dab a highlighting blush onto the spots where the sun would naturally hit (cheeks, the bridge of my nose, and chin.) I mix two shades of taupe/brown shadow and blend it together on my eyelids, and then fill in my eyebrows with a brow pencil. I put a little mascara on my top lashes (never on the bottom lashes because it makes me look tired if it smudges) and then a good neutral lipstick that looks super simple and natural.
And then voilà, I am ready to go in five minutes flat!
