Brand: Nensi Dojaka
Season: Fall/Winter 2021
Buy: Online exclusively at SSENSE
Editor’s Notes: Nensi Dojaka, this year’s newly crowned LVMH Prize winner, has partnered with SSENSE on an exclusive capsule collection.
Hot on the heels of her very first standalone show at London Fashion Week, the Albanian designer offers up a curated range of delicate yet tough garments for day and night.
Three draped mini-dresses are constructed with whisper-thin straps that zig-zag across the chest, highlighting the décolletage. Reflecting Dojaka’s signature lingerie-inspired aesthetic, the frocks blur the line between underwear and eveningwear.

Perhaps most representative of Dojaka’s look is a pair of sheer tights with ruching down the sides. The hosiery is meant to be shown off in all its hole-y glory, propositioning us to embrace tights as pants.
In fact, Dojaka debuted a similar pair at her aforementioned Fashion Week show, setting the stage for a new trend. Given the popularity of Charlotte Knowles’ sheer flares and Acne Studios’ loosely crocheted bottoms, sheer hose as pants isn’t an entirely farfetched prospect.
Elsewhere in the collection, two sheer tops — one button-down and one T-shirt — offer ample layering opportunities. Lastly, a draped, low-rise skort is constructed with belt loops and trouser-style back pockets, giving the micro-mini bottom a tailored feel.
Though Dojaka’s SSENSE collection is rather monochromatic (hey, black is always in fashion), costumers can expect more colors for Spring/Summer 2022. The designer’s solo Fashion Week debut saw her experiment with shades of pink, red, and camel, a refreshing divergence from Dojaka’s penchant for black.
In short: keep an eye on Nensi Dojaka. Rumor has it she might launch accessories in the near future.
