That being said, it’s time to swap in breezy skincare, lightweight coverups, fresh scents and even a little bit of nail colour to lift our spirits and keep our beauty game on top.

For this new season, the scent has evolved into Her London Dream, picking up a similar romantic energy with fresh notes such as lemon, fresh ginger, peony and rose. It’s aptly fronted by supermodel Cara Delevigne, who graces the campaign as the cover girl for the launch.

While matte skin takes a back seat this season and dewy complexions are what summer skin goals are all about, the new skincare/make-up foundation offers all-day luminosity and lightweight comfort.

There’s no stopping Gucci when it comes to beauty. Starting with lipsticks, the collection has again been extended and now includes nail polish, with five high-coverage, ultra-glossy shades – each inspired by Hollywood movies from the gilded era – kicking off the range. If Gucci Beauty’s previous releases are anything to go by, we can expect a spectrum of new colours by next season.
It’s been four years since Byredo first launched its perfume extracts, Night Veils. Taking three of its most iconic scents – Casablanca Lily, Reine de Nuit and Sellier – the perfumer has distilled the fragrances to create highly concentrated scents that reinvent the perfume ritual. Our top pick of the trio is Reine de Nuit, a fragrance dedicated to heady flowers that bloom into the nightfall.
The power of the rose is unquestionable. Found in nature and used for centuries for its healing and hydrating properties, the rose is still a frontrunner when it comes to a beauty ingredient. And the most prestigious of this flower are those that hail from Bulgaria – also the birth place of Omaia – the new brand focused on roses to come to Hong Kong. Its first launch is the 100% Bulgarian Rose Water – a fix-it-all for skin and hair – to tone, refresh and lightly scent the skin and improve the appearance of fine lines and redness.
Valmont made a splash with its olfactory high jewellery collection, Storie Veneziane created back in 2018 and has since been in the works for its second chapter, which has recently launched in Hong Kong. Act II of Storie Veneziane brand is composed of two distinct and singular collections, the Collezione Privata of three scents (founder Sophie Guillon’s vision) and Palazzo Nobile of five scents (Sophie’s husband, Didier’s creations). The collections include chypre, floral, leather, woody, musky and citrus characteristics that are vivid and lasting.
It’s been months since we last boarded a plane to explore the world, and it has certainly changed the way we think about travel. While we’re stationed in Hong Kong, Penhaligon’s has managed to whisk us away to the United Kingdom through their Wish You Were Here collection – six mini bottles of the brand’s most popular scents, each transporting us to different corners of the British island.
