New Restaurant in London Celebrates Diverse Cultural Identity

lanes of london_A restaurant that celebrates London’s position at the forefront of the international food and drink scene is set to launch in Park Lane in January.

Lanes of London will showcase the best of London under one roof, combining old-fashioned British heritage with the diverse cultural identity of modern day London in a unique, welcoming environment.

Dishes will represent the capital’s culinary highlights, influenced by the many ‘Lanes’ of London; Indian cooking synonymous with Brick Lane, Vietnamese influences of Kingsland Road, Lebanese flavours from Edgware Road and British classics from Portobello Road.

Guests will experience a true taste of London through authentic yet innovative dishes created from the finest locally sourced, seasonal and sustainable produce. Small plates offer a trip around the global food scene ideal to be shared at the table allowing guests to tailor their experience.

The kitchen at Lanes of London will be manned by executive head chef Anshu Anghotra, alumnus of acclaimed Raymond Blanc’s Industry Cooking School at Michelin Starred Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, Zodiac at Hanbury Manor, and trained under Mark Gautier.

Signature dishes will include Indian Butter Chicken, Lebanese Kafta Meshwi, Vietnamese Bun Thit Nuong and British desserts such as Poor Knights of Windsor.

The design of the restaurant and bar draws on the character of the existing late Edwardian mansion block designed by Frank Verity in the 1800s, while retaining a classical feel of London with a contemporary twist.

Blacksheep, the award-winning restaurant design agency, are responsible for the interior design which incorporates elements of marble, aged brass, traditional leaded glazing, racing green leather, rustic oak and antique detailing throughout.

The bar at Lanes of London creates a striking first impression as you enter and will offer an intimate space and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy after work drinks, pre-dinner cocktails and late evening night caps.

A collection of finger-friendly snacks, starters and light entrées, are perfect with a ‘West London Gimlet’ or a ‘Pi-Nam Colada’ cocktail. Real local ales from Meantime Brewery and spirits from the local Sipsmith distillery will also grace the menu.

The bar will be managed by Francesco Turrini who heralds from Mark’s Bar at Hix, Milk & Honey and, most recently, The Luggage Room.

Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, Lanes of London also features a private dining room for intimate private parties.
