Bring him back! Nikki Bella admitted she was going to surprise her boyfriend, Artem Chigvintsev, with a visit from his parents during the Dancing With the Stars season 28 finale. The only problem? He wasn’t asked to return.
“He hasn’t seen his family in almost five years and I think that’s also why him getting cut on this season of Dancing With the Stars was really hard on me,” the pro wrestler, 35, told Us Weekly at the USA Today Wine & Food Experience in Brooklyn on Saturday, September 7. “No one knew I was working on trying to get his parents here because his parents have never seen him dance live for TV.”
The Total Bellas star — who confirmed her relationship to the Russian pro in March 2019 following her split from John Cena — added, “His mom has seen him dance once on a live show that was on tour but they’ve never seen him dance live for television. He’s a mama’s boy. Like, he FaceTies them a few days a week, and they’re so close.”
After the series announced its new cast last month, which did not include the 37-year-old, Nikki unfollowed the DWTS official Instagram account. “I’m so sorry my A,” she commented on a slew of photos he posted to social media. “I know big things will happen for you. Their loss, I promise. You are an incredible person with a beautiful soul and are beyond talented. Anyone will be lucky to have you dance for them! Chin up! I’m SO excited to see your new journey and what you will do next!! The world is yours!” We stan a supportive girlfriend!
Luckily, it doesn’t sound like there are any hard feelings. “Even though this is so hard on me, I will be DWTS’ No. 1 fan, cheering you all on every Monday night! Good luck to everyone on Seasons 28!” he wrote. Aww! Here’s hoping he’ll make the cut next year. In the meantime, at least now these two cuties will be able to spend more time together.
