The men’s looks at Giorgio Armani’s Autumn/Winter collection feature a typical Armani ease, painting the picture of a man who’s wholly self-assured, comfortable and effortlessly sophisticated.
The Giorgio Armani autumn/winter 2021 runway opens to sounds of seagulls, with music setting the nature-inspired ambience as models walk around a majestic sea-green gorilla statue.
The menswear collection is full of comforting and familiar pieces that look to be easily mixed and matched as desired. An inspired-by-nature palette features throughout the collection – think woodsy browns, graphite and silvers, ultramarine and forest green. And some gradients with powder blues fading into grey, hints of rose pink, warm burnt orange and deeper reds.
The casual tailoring lends a comfortable-yet-polished feeling to the outfits as textures are masterfully layered and contrasted. Trousers are looser, almost flowing and coats feature slouchy shoulders and boxier cuts. Geometric-patterned knits and woollen jackets are juxtaposed with hard work boots. Plush velvet hoodies are paired with leather trunk bags. Tougher material overcoats reveal a flash of satin-silk lining, and the look is completed with a draped shimmering shawl.
Swathes of velvet and leather feature prominently, even popping up in the form of a collar or waistcoat. Mandarin collars also make an appearance as well as eclectic prints – a standout is a coral and cornflower blue paisley pattern on pistachio green. Monochrome looks included Armani’s signature navy as well as off-white and cream ensembles
The outfits at Giorgio Armani Men Autumn/Winter looked soft-to-touch, lush and comfortable – an air of nonchalant luxury and effortless sophistication.
