NY Fold can be found along Charing Cross road, nearer to Totteham Court Road tube station it is hard to ignore the pizzas on display by the window. Pass the neighbour Pizzas that have overly thick dough and head here instead. New Yorkers call their pizza pies. For a whole pie in 16″ will cost £20 whilst 20″ is £25. A slice of pie sets you back for £4. Other items on the menu include fresh pastas, wings, meatballs and more.
Turning up in the evening I expected the place to be busy and full, but it was quite the opposite. Only a large party and a few other diners. Table service is quick and waiters that serve you with a huge warm smile. Not particular hungry I ordered 1 slice. I did wait a while for the pizza to be served but it was made to order. NY fold promises utterly delicious pizzas and their dough takes 2 days to make. Instead of using wood fire or charcoal ovens they use a gas one.
My vegetarian pizza is served up on a round metal tray with a branded greaseproof paper. If you want a pizza with plenty of cheese NY fold is the place for that. The ratio of cheese over tomato sauce is 80-20. Mozzarella cheese falling off the sides, the vegetarian pizza comes with sliced mushrooms, red onions, sweet bell pepper, fresh parsley and even more shavings of pepper. The crust is lovely and airy light that crunches on every bite. The weight of the ingredients made it impossible to eat by hand, but the proper way to eat these pizzas is to fold in half and attack by the mouth fall.
NY Fold is enjoyable and is great for people who love lots of mozzarella cheese, the pizzas are tasty, fresh and crust has a memorable crunch. Service is quick and there are many other things to choose from the menu.
