Summer and sand simply go hand in hand. When the season calls, we migrate to dream destinations for some R&R as if ocean water can melt our problems away. But we don’t have to travel the world for an oceanfront getaway.
Luckily, such a place is only a matter of miles away at Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa under the new management of Michael Nenner, an accomplished Four Seasons veteran with more than 15 years of luxury resort experience. In honor of their 90th Anniversary in the Hamptons, Gurney’s is launching the third phase of their multi-year renovation for this summer season. This includes the debut of 42 new resort guest rooms and planned spa renovations along the most pristine stretch of the Montauk oceanfront.
The room’s new look, designed by Michael Kramer of Michael Thomas & Co, is crafted with respect to the resorts history with modern twists on vintage decor. Reclaimed weather-beaten cedar siding has been included as well as new cathedral ceilings to match the integrity of reclaimed oak hardwood floors. Custom drapery was designed to mimic the ocean’s changing tides and welcome the morning sun. The custom furniture, sculpted from a combination of solid oak, walnut and ash give the room an eclectic vibe to house resort items preserved from several generations.
Beach comfort meets luxury accommodations with a series of wellness partnerships, such as the expanding deal with Wellthily’s health programs, Gurney’s guests can indulge in wellness retreats, fitness weekends, and in-room wellbeing experiences. Paddle Diva Watersports offers the memorable experiences of surfing lessons, boogie board lessons, stand up paddleboarding yoga, and water adventure tours. From Hollywood to the Hamptons, celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino brings his talented team together at the new Rich Pipino Hairspace. And for guests’ fashion fix, a series of rotating clothing and wellness pop-up shops are featured on the roof deck under the “Fashion Collective” at Gurney’s.
The newly unveiled Residences at Gurney’s offer a unique lifestyle opportunity found in 12 incomparable oceanfront homes, adjacent to the resort itself. The iconic Hamptons-style cottages share the same modern interior design with light woods, cool marble, and soft colors to accent the dramatic view, as expansive outdoor living areas overlook the Atlantic Ocean. These residences are fit for family, designed on properties ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 square feet, holding anywhere between two to five bedrooms. Like the resort, absolutely everything is taken care of, from butler service to home maintenance, watersport storage to private cabanas, to wellness and dining options. Starting at $5 million, residence sales are personally executed by Ryan Serhant of Nest Seekers International and star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing.
