Oceania Cruises Completes Riviera Ship’s Renovations

After a dry-dock period in Marseille, France, Oceania Cruises Riviera‘s renovations are complete. Part of the $100 million OceaniaNEXT initiative, the culinary-focused and destination-driven cruise line is reimagining all six of its the brand’s ships, including its Regatta-class ships Insignia, Regatta, Nautica and Sirena, as well as Riviera‘s sister Oceania-class ship, Marina, in May 2020.

Owner’s Suite Living Room

For the renovation, Oceania wanted to fully update its staterooms, Owner’s Suites and amenities. Though Riviera was built just in 2012, the brand is hoping to elevate one of its most popular ships through modern design and amenities. Most notably, there is an all-new coffee bar and lounge area (the Bar Istas lounge) on Deck 14 with gorgeous views over the ocean. Coffee lovers will be excited about the new Victoria Arduino espresso machine, as well as Illy coffee creations. There are plenty of design elements to excite the modern traveler, including ebony and white-marble walls and punchy yellow chairs.

Additionally, the ship’s Concierge and Veranda staterooms have been redesigned with walnut paneling, upholstered headboards and all-new carpeting and fabrics in a neutral color palette of espresso, caramel and ivory hues. Not to be missed are also the new Owner’s Suites furnished with Ralph Lauren Home. Each room is a modern interpretation of traditional cruise lines from the early 20th century: Details like a mahogany and quartzite bar, Georgian-wood walls, limestone and black-cabochon flooring and gorgeous upholstered chairs with definitive yachting-inspired patterns.

Owner’s Suite Bedroom

Each stateroom is undeniably elegant and posh with its chandeliers and nickel-trimmed lighting accents. The Owner’s Suites were designed by Los Angeles-based Trevor R Howells Interior Design.

“With the evolution of OceaniaNEXT, this was a great opportunity to not just enhance the guest experience aboard Riviera, but to elevate it through the addition of surprising new elements,” says Bob Binder, president and CEO of Oceania Cruises.
