Another one bites the dust! Jessie J and Channing Tatum have called it quits, Life & Style has learned. Us Weekly was the first to report the news of their split. “Channing Tatum and Jessie J broke up about a month ago,” a source tells the outlet. “They are still really close and still good friends.”
News of the pair’s breakup comes just one month after their one-year anniversary. The “Masterpiece” singer, 31, and Magic Mike actor, 39, became Instagram official on November 13, 2018.
“This woman just poured her heart out on stage at the Royal Albert Hall,” Channing captioned his first-ever social media post about Jessie. “Whoever was there got to witness something special. Wow.” After that, things between the Hollywood lovebirds started heating up — and fast!
“He’s totally consumed by this love affair and wants to be with Jessie 24/7. They’ll spend the whole day in bed together, oblivious that there’s a world out there,” a source previously told Life & Style of Channing and his now-ex.
“He doesn’t have to hunt for work, so he may as well enjoy his time with the love of his life,” the insider added. “Channing is obsessed with Jessie and that’s all that seems to matter to him at the moment.” Things got so serious between the A-listers, that Jessie actually developed a relationship with Channing’s daughter, Everly, whom he shares with ex-wife Jenna Dewan.
A separate source told Life & Style that Jessie “played tour guide” during a July trip to London with Channing and Everly, 6.
“Jessie has passed the biggest test of all — Channing’s daughter Everly loves her,” the insider continued at the time. “What’s even better is that Channing’s ex Jenna is happy that the two are bonding, even encouraging her daughter to be especially nice to Jessie.”
While Jenna, 38, did eventually come to accept Channing and Jessie being together, the World of Dance star admitted her initial reaction was jarring. “There I was, on a plane, alone, finding out about his new relationship,” Jenna recalled in her book, Gracefully You: Finding Beauty and Balance in Everyday. “I felt blindsided.”
Since then, Jenna has moved on with actor and singer Steve Kazee. The couple is expecting their first child together. Here’s hoping Channing finds his happily ever after again, too.
