Bravi, bravi! The Rinker Playhouse at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach will swell with the sounds of some of history’s most beloved arias, art songs, and spirituals January 29 during “Our Song, Our Story: The New Generation of Black Voices.” Musical Renaissance man, founder of Chorale Le Chateau, and Manhattan School of Music faculty member Damien Sneed will take a seat at the piano to lead mezzo-soprano Raehann Bryce-Davis, soprano Brandie Sutton, and an accompanying string quartet through the regal and soulful evening. The concert will pay tribute to legendary contralto Marian Anderson and the ever-dynamic soprano Jessye Norman, who paved the way for Black voices in opera.
