Editor’s Notes: If you’re a Palace fan, you’re likely familiar with Juergen Teller. The iconic photographer has shot the majority of the brand’s lookbooks over the last few seasons, bringing the Palace skate team to London, Palm Springs, Naples, Tokyo, and Kentucky for lookbooks and brand campaigns. But now for the first time, the photographer is making the clothes for the brand. Palace has teamed up with Teller on a capsule collection featuring some of the photographer’s favorite archive photos, alongside new work.

The images span Teller’s career and give an insight into the photographer’s raw and often extremely funny style. A T-shirt features a nude of model Kristen McMenamy, an image that marks the first time the photographer brought his stark style to a fashion context. Elsewhere, we get a topless self-portrait of Teller posing with footballs, described by the brand as “a portrait featuring 2 of Juergen’s favorite things: smoking and football,” a bleak image of a frozen dead dog, taken shortly after Teller’s father’s death, and an all-over print hoodie with an image of cigarettes (smoked by Norwegian author Karl Ove Knausgard).

New work includes a collage Teller made during lockdown that shows up on a hoodie and skateboard. We also get images of frogs on plates ( a play on the English translation of the photographer’s last name) and what Palace describes as “a nice photograph of a dog being washed in the sink :)” Finally, Teller gets his very own Tri-Ferg that reads “Juergen Teller Palace”. Browse the collection above and head over to Palace to find out more.
