Palio Faliro

Before you reach the first point of call for the Athenian Riviera, Glyfada, by following the coast from Piraeus, Faliro is your first introduction to the Athenian sun meets sky. Faliro is beautiful coastal area of Athens, which is up scale on the Property market, as most apartments or house have a sea view!

Faliro is mainly a residential area, and has been for many years as it was the first area to be considered a summer/weekend location for those living and or working in the center or the North of Athens, before Athens expanded to reach until the boundaries of Varkiza. It has a quaint little beach side playground, which is perfect for children (or the child in you) and the beach strip is nicely maintained throughout the year. You will find street food salesmen with their carts roaming the beach promenade, selling roast corn and chestnuts, candy canes, candy apples and cotton candy!

Tip: You can take the Tram (public transport) from the center and you can go coastal all the way! The tram begins at Syntagma square, goes down to Faliro, with two different destinations from there; to the left you will go towards Glyfada and the Athenian Riviera, and to the right you will go towards Piraeus and SEF (Stadium of Peace and Friendship) and towards the Olympiacos stadium.

Flisvo Park, Faliro

The Park of Flisvos is a recent development between Piraeus and Faliro, location wise. It secures the park from any outside traffic, and is a safe area for a nice walk around, surrounded by green landscaping, taking you away from anything reminiscent of a city center, and in combination with a sea view, you will think you have escaped somewhere in Alice’s Wonderland!

Marina Flisvou

To get there, you need the tram that takes you to the right from Faliro (Ag. Skepi tram stop). It is primarily a marina, so be prepared to stare at numerous shiny yachts that are parked there, floating on the glistening sea. The Marina features a variety of cafes/bars, most of which either carry a decent lunch menu, others carry snack options. The TGIF there is your best bet for a nice moreish meal, although you should also try the Margherita Pizza at Pier One, which is a corner café where you can sit outside and soak up the surroundings. In this complex you can also find frozen yoghurt and an inflated playground for the young ones. During the winter, they management set up an ice skating rink which is fun for children and the adventurous grown-ups!

Next to the Marina you can find the Village Cinema complex and Badminton Theater which is also a meet and greet place. On top of state of the art cinema theaters, the building is host to a multitude of bars and cafes, a bowling and gaming center and is complete with underground parking, although the tram will leave you just outside (Delta Falirou tram stop).
