Park Hyatt New York
1 bedroom city view suite
January 2020
Join us on a visit to the flagship property of the luxurious hotel chain Park Hyatt – located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan NYC in the prestigious One57 building.
This time we are reviewing a 1 Bedroom City View Suite with costing ~$2,500 / night (a bit cheaper during low season though).
Finished in late 2014 this hotel still looks and feels brand new. You will find a lot of beautiful art pieces around in the hotel, and the rooms / suites are equipped with designer furniture and floor-to-ceiling windows. To add a bit of extra luxury, we think it’s worth mentioning the unique bed linen from Sferra and fragrance from Le Labo – all made exclusive for this single property.
We really love the layout and size of this suite, which is around 1.000 sqft / 93 sqm. It feels like a home, and it’s super convenient, that you can reach anywhere in a few steps, no matter where you are in the suite at any given point.
The bathroom with a view of the city is definitely one of the best parts of the suite. You feel like royal when laying in the soaking tub, after a long stressful day of shopping
If you’re worried about the paparazzi’s, you can drop the curtains or the blinds with a push of a button.

The good
The spa / pool area is just mindblowing! We weren’t allowed to take photos inside, but we guarantee it’s an amazing experience. We could stay there for days – relaxing and enjoying the views. Jacuzzi, steam room, comfy lounge chairs, a 65 feet pool (if you want to do some laps) and much more. The luxurious locker room features huge private showers (bathrooms), so you really have everything you need. Just take the elevator to the 25th floor and prepare to be amazed. If you’re a luxury and wellness addict, Park Hyatt New York is the perfect choice.
The extremely high quality of the food also deserves to be mentioned. Though they “only” have one restaurant (The Living Room), everything we had there was sublime. Very tasty and with their own unique twist to some of the classic dishes like a burger or french toast. It’s very easy to drop in and out, and there’s a cool atmosphere. Though not the cheapest option, we think it’s definitely worth the money, and it’s a really nice place to hang out before venturing into the city, or to relax before going “home” to your suite.
The less good
When entering the building, you have to take an elevator to the first floor, where the hotel lobby is located. However, those elevators can’t get you any higher, so you have to go through the reception / lobby area to take another elevator, in order to access your room / suite. Wasn’t really an issue to us during our short stay, but in case you’re staying for longer periods of time, I think you would have appreciated a more convenient solution.
Conclusion
If you’ve read / seen some of the other suite reviews, you probably know how we rate the suites / hotels we stay in. Some of the scores refer only to the suite, some only to the hotel, and some scores refer to both. When we add them all together, we get the combined Suite Life score of the stay.
The 1 Bedroom City View Suite at The Park Hyatt New York was a fantastic experience and it definitely deserves its score in the 900’s range. The location, the design, the exclusive products made for this hotel only, the spa – everything just adds to the luxury feeling. We’re proud to give it a final score of 941 and highly recommend this hotel and suite to anyone visiting New York.
Scorechart explanation:
All elements are rated from 1-100 points. Please see the guideline below.
Like at The St. Regis we used the opportunity to do a photoshoot in the suite, and had the pleasure of showcasing some of the most exclusive loungewear / underwear in the world – from the luxury swiss brand Zimmerli.
Thanks for taking the time to read this article and watching the video. We hope you’ve enjoyed it just as much as we did making it. Thank you to The Park Hyatt New York for taking very good care of us during our stay.
Take care everyone and see you soon again. Next review is also in New York City – at The Ritz-Carlton Central Park!
